What's different about this year's Bounty of Yamhill County?
We've adapted our events to be safely socially distanced and comply with current Oregon State regulations for crowd size. We've also added two online components this year; our Silent Auction and a Wall of Wine so you can participate in the event, even if you're not physically present.
How do I bid in the silent auction?
The first step is to register https://boyc2020.ggo.bid. When you register, you'll provide your contact and credit card information to simplify the process come bidding time. Once the auction goes "live", you'll receive a text message to let you know you can begin bidding. You'll be notified if you've been outbid on an item, or if a new item becomes available. You can use your smart phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop to bid on auction items.
If I win an auction item, how do I collect it?
If the auction lot contains a tangible item, BOYC will contact you to arrange for pick up at our office in McMinnville. If the item is a gift certificate, it will be mailed to the winning bidder. If an item requires shipping, costs will be responsibility of the winning bidder.
What is the Wall of Wine?
The Wall of Wine features bottles from 26 Featured Wineries. Guests purchase unidentified 3-packs of wine for $100. BOYC randomly pairs guests with a winery; the winery then chooses 3 bottles to send to the guest. The shipment may be 3 bottles of Pinot, it may be a mix of Pinot and white wine, it may be multiple vintages of a single wine, or even club member-only selections. After the event, we'll let you know the winery you've "won".
Whatever the winery chooses, it's guaranteed to be valued at over $105. Even better, shipping is free!
How will you safely manage the in-person events?
All Picnic Series dinners provide ample space to safely socially distance throughout the event. All food and beverage will be served according to current health and safety standards. Guests will be required to wear face-coverings as they move about the event space. Once seated, face coverings can be removed. Staff will use face coverings throughout. In addition, each venue will have hand sanitizer and hand washing facilities available.
What should I wear for a Picnic?
As all events take place outdoors, we suggest being prepared with a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. In addition, as temps drop as the sun sets, bringing a sweater or jacket is always a good idea. Choose footwear that's suited to walking on uneven ground.
Why can't you ship my BIG NIGHT Box or Wall of Wine now?
Higher temperatures during summer months can negatively impact wines. To ensure quality of wines, we hold all packages until temperatures decrease in the fall. Your patience will be rewarded with products in good condition upon arrival.
